Climate

Svalbard is situated between latitudes 74º and 81º N, and longitudes 10º and 35º E. The climate in Svalbard is milder than at the same latitudes in other areas, due to warm Atlantic ocean water and frequent low pressures passing the archipelago. See www.npolar.no: Climate for more information.
